- “Our Amazing Oceans” presentation
We had a great presentation this morning with Ms. Luce’s class of 2nd graders! Wonderful group of young kids who had already started learning about the ocean in their class! We love when teachers incorporate marine science into their regular curriculum! We were able to show them first hand what some of the creatures looked like and help them understand how big some of these amazing ocean creatures are! We had two volunteers today when Michael and Manny gave their time to join in on the presentation! We look forward to coming back to Ironwood and giving additional talks!
I cannot tell you how much the children enjoyed their experience with the Fin Foundation today. They were “ooohing’ and “ahhhing” throughout the presentation with all of the incredible artifacts the team brought. The knowledge of the team was absolutely impressive-I learned so much!
I had my students reflect on the presentation for homework. They were expected to tell their parents the various facts they learned and the parents wrote it all down and returned it. The work the children returned is awesome! It is evident that this hands-on presentation not only fostered their excitement for the ocean, but taught them in great detail about the various plants and animals that live in such an amazing habitat and how to respect it.
Thank you very much for your hard work and sharing your passion with us. We cannot wait to have you back in our classroom and in other classrooms at Ironwood!
I agree with you partner!
